The world’s first underwater restaurant, named Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, was inaugurated in Maldives on April 15th 2005. It is a unique underwater structure projected by New Zealander M.J. Murphy, the mind behind this phenomenal building. Dining in Ithaa is a sensational experience you will never forget.
The luxurious Ithaa Undersea Restaurant is located on Rangali Island. It is five meters (16 feet) below sea level and gives you an unrivalled 180-degree sea life view while you dine.
The eatery has a small capacity of only 14 people with an extraordinary view of water life. The restaurant can also be reserved for dinners, weddings or for some other special social occasions.
On exceptional requests the restaurant can also be turned into a bedroom. Ithaa is not only about the fascinating view, the food provides an unforgettable experience, too. The place is awarded with a Certificate of Excellence for the year of 2013. The expected lifespan of the structure is 20 years.
